COURSE OBJECTIVES:   The student will be able to discuss the goal of an effective Crisis Intervention Team program and the roles of public safety responders within the crisis intervention team. The student will be able to Identify different types of mental health illnesses and situations to relay to responders and to further assist individuals in crisis.  The student will be able to describe the relationship between mental illness and suicide, recognize suicidal indicators, and identify resources for community mental health and crisis outreach.
